Acompany Establishes Confidential Computing JP, a Technical Community for Confidential Computing

Acompany Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; CEO: Ryosuke Takahashi; hereafter Acompany), a company driving Privacy DX, has established Confidential Computing JP, a community aimed at promoting and raising awareness of Confidential Computing.

As part of its activities, Confidential Computing JP will hold its first event, titled [Online] Intel SGX Study Session 1: Community Objectives and Trends, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 6:00 PM JST.

You can enter the event here (Japanese only)

Background

Through its Privacy DX solutions that balance proactive innovation and protection, Acompany addresses corporate challenges related to privacy. A core technology in achieving this is Confidential Computing using TEE (Trusted Execution Environment), an area in which Acompany excels in both core and application development.

The Confidential Computing market is predicted to experience rapid growth, with a compound annual growth rate of 50.5% from 2024 to 2032, reflecting its growing necessity in the business world.* Developing products or advancing business initiatives using Confidential Computing requires a broad and complex set of specialized knowledge. Additionally, resources on Confidential Computing are scarce, particularly in Japanese, making independent learning challenging.

To address this, Acompany has founded Confidential Computing JP to promote knowledge sharing through study sessions and networking opportunities for engineers. This initiative aims to advance the dissemination of Confidential Computing, foster new collaborations, and create career opportunities for all involved in the field.

What are Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs)?

Privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) encompass tools and methods designed to protect individual privacy. In today's world, where large amounts of personal data are held by organizations, it has become essential to ensure secure data utilization and protection. PETs address these challenges through technologies such as:

  • Confidential Computing: Enables advanced data analysis while keeping data encrypted.

  • Synthetic Data: Generates similar but non-identifiable data from original data.

  • k-Anonymity: Makes it difficult to identify individuals in datasets.
