KDDI Corporation and Acompany Begin Partnership in Privacy-Preserving Technology
Enabling advanced AI data utilization while ensuring privacy through computation on encrypted data
Nagoya, Japan, July 16, 2025
Acompany Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture; CEO: Ryosuke Takahashi; hereinafter “Acompany”) and KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hiromichi Matsuda; hereinafter “KDDI”) announced today that they have entered into a partnership to develop and provide technology that enables safer and more advanced use of big data, including personal and location information (hereinafter “the partnership”).

In recent years, the utility of customer attributes, purchase histories, and location data has increased in fields such as finance, healthcare, education, and marketing. However, broader use of such data demands strict privacy protection. At the same time, risks such as personal data leaks and privacy violations due to cyberattacks are becoming more pronounced.
Acompany reduces these risks through the provision of confidential computation technology that enables advanced data analysis while keeping the computation process itself secure. Since 2023, the two companies have been collaborating on the development of data clean rooms - secure environments for data sharing between multiple enterprises, compliant with personal information protection laws - centered on secure computation technology. The technology was commercialized in March 2025.
Through this partnership, both companies aim to further advance privacy-preserving inter-company data collaboration and the safe and responsible use of AI technologies.
Partnership Details
1. Development of Privacy-Preserving Technologies to Enhance Data Utilization Safety
Acompany brings deep expertise in privacy and AI governance as well as in confidential computation and security technologies. KDDI, leveraging its extensive big data from services such as telecommunications and finance and its AI development capabilities, will collaborate with Acompany to develop privacy-preserving technologies. These will serve as the foundation for constructing AI systems and large language models that utilize data securely.
The companies will offer secure data-sharing technology to domestic and international enterprises requiring safe inter-company data collaboration, helping solve complex challenges and generate new value.
2. Strengthening and Promoting Privacy Governance
As AI technologies rapidly evolve, appropriate responses based on trends in privacy protection and use case studies are essential. Acompany’s expertise in privacy governance will support KDDI in enhancing privacy protection governance across the entire KDDI Group.
In addition, through the activities of the PrivacyTech Association, for which Acompany serves as the secretariat, the companies aim to promote the benefits of privacy-enhancing technologies and contribute to the realization of a society where data can be used safely and securely.

By using KDDI as a model case, we aim to contribute to the creation of a trustworthy data-driven society on a global scale."
