Acompany Appoints Atsuki Momose as Executive Officer and CRO

Acompany also Establishes Confidential Computing Lab — a Research Institute Specializing in Hardware-based Confidential Computing

Acompany Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi Ward, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; CEO: Ryosuke Takahashi), hereafter “Acompany,” has appointed Atsuki Momose, a leading young Japanese researcher in the field of hardware-based confidential computing, as Executive Officer and Chief Research Officer (CRO) to lead the company’s research efforts in this domain.

By leveraging Momose’s proven track record in driving research and development in hardware-based confidential computing, the executive team aims to pursue bold, non-linear business growth.

On the same day, Acompany also announced the establishment of a new research institute dedicated to this field — the Confidential Computing Lab (CC Lab). As CRO, Momose will serve as the founding Director of CC Lab.

Appointment Rationale

Acompany has built its business around hardware-based confidential computing as a core technology, offering products like AutoPrivacy AI CleanRoom, which protects data and AI, and AutoPrivacy DataCleanRoom, which enables the safe use of personal data.

Now officially joining the executive team as CRO, Momose is recognized as one of Japan’s leading young researchers in confidential computing. He has been internationally recognized for his work, including being selected for two consecutive years as a program committee member at ACM CCS, one of the world’s top international conferences in information security.

He has also actively led cross-organizational research and development projects and contributed to numerous academic publications at international conferences.

With his strong academic and industry credentials, Momose’s addition to the executive team will further accelerate both the research and practical implementation of hardware-based confidential computing, reinforcing Acompany’s business foundation.

To commemorate this appointment, Acompany has also published an interview between CEO Ryosuke Takahashi and Atsuki Momose.

Profile: Atsuki Momose

After completing his Master’s in Informatics at Nagoya University, Momose joined the IS Research Institute at SECOM Co., Ltd., where he focused on research and development in cryptography and security technologies. He later became a visiting researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and began a Ph.D. program in Computer Science.

As a top young researcher in cryptography and confidential computing, Momose has published five papers as first author at ACM CCS over four consecutive years. He was selected as a program committee member for ACM CCS 2024 and 2025, receiving high praise internationally. He has also received a research grant from the Ethereum Foundation for his independent work.

He joined Acompany in April 2024 and has led research and development of enterprise data collaboration infrastructure using confidential computing. As of April 2025, he has been appointed Executive Officer and CRO, as well as Director of CC Lab.

Message from Atsuki Momose, Executive Officer & CRO

With the rapid advancement of generative AI, expanded use of data, and evolving legal frameworks, the importance of confidential computing is growing significantly.
Since joining Acompany in April last year, I’ve seen firsthand how the company’s strengths — from business development and legal to R&D and product — work together to drive forward innovation.
Now, as Executive Officer and CRO, I’m fully committed to creating new value through research and development.
The real-world application of deep tech requires a unified approach between R&D and business development. I’ll continue to draw on my experience from both corporate and academic research as I work with our highly skilled team to drive the growth of our confidential computing business.

Message from CEO Ryosuke Takahashi

I’m excited to announce that Atsuki Momose is officially joining the executive team as CRO. He is a top young researcher in confidential computing, with international recognition including back-to-back selection as a program committee member at ACM CCS.
Acompany is a deep tech startup with hardware-based confidential computing at its core. In February, we launched the AutoPrivacy AI CleanRoom to protect data and AI. With Momose’s expertise now part of our leadership, we aim to further accelerate R&D and implementation.
We are committed to achieving discontinuous growth and becoming the world’s leading privacy tech company. Please look forward to the future of Acompany.

What is Hardware-based Confidential Computing?

Confidential computing refers to technology that enables computations to be performed on encrypted data. Among its types, hardware-based confidential computing — often called Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) — ensures not just confidentiality (data protection), but also integrity, by allowing verification that the code being executed matches the expected, pre-approved version.

In Japan, hardware-based confidential computing has been designated as an essential technology in the Government Cloud initiative. Internationally, it’s already in use by companies like Apple and Google, and has seen adoption by the U.S. Navy and Army, among others — making it a rapidly advancing global technology.
