Comments from the Investors
Koki Ono, Manager, Investment Department, SBI Investment Co., Ltd.
“With the rapid proliferation of AI and the growing risk of information leaks, many companies are likely struggling to strike a balance between innovation and protection. Handling personal data is especially sensitive, and many companies hesitate to take the first step, even if they want to. Acompany has the power to break through this status quo. With world-class technology, they are a team that pursues both security and innovation and boldly takes on the global stage from Japan. It is a great honor to walk alongside them as the lead investor in this round. I firmly believe that Acompany’s bold challenge will pave the way for the future of Japanese enterprise, and we are committed to supporting them with our full strength."
Ryohei Minami, Principal / Soichi Kariyazono, Co-Founding Partner, Globis Capital Partners Inc.
“The importance of data utilization for both companies and nations has been emphasized for some time, yet its full potential remains untapped due to barriers around security and privacy. Confidential Computing technology, which Acompany offers, has the potential to overcome these challenges and become an essential infrastructure in the age of AI. It is also expected to play a significant role in the context of economic security. We believe that Takahashi-san and his team have the ability to bring together a wide range of stakeholders and steadily turn this vision into reality. That belief led us to invest in this round. We look forward to working together in the journey ahead."
Kazuya Takeda, President & CEO, Central Japan Innovation Capital Inc.
"In a data-driven society, Confidential Computing will become one of the most critical values. As a university-affiliated venture capital firm, we are truly delighted to grow together with the Acompany team, who are at the forefront of this cutting-edge technology. Let’s build a brilliant future together!"
Hiroaki Sugita (Former Japan Chairman, Boston Consulting Group)
"The importance of data security is growing not only from the standpoint of privacy protection, but also in terms of defending data against malicious attacks at every level, including individuals, corporations, and nations. At the same time, in order for companies to extract greater value from the data they hold - not just internally but also across companies, industries, and society - it is essential to have technologies that allow data to be aggregated and processed as big data while maintaining confidentiality. Acompany is a leading pioneer in delivering such solutions through Confidential Computing. By widely spreading the adoption of its technology, I expect Acompany to play a vital role in solving increasingly critical societal challenges."
Kunihiro Tanaka (President and CEO, SAKURA Internet Inc.)
"Acompany is a startup originating from Nagoya University that’s tackling the challenge of balancing privacy and data utilization through the advanced technology of hardware-based confidential computing. As someone personally focused on strengthening investment in the deep tech domain, I made the decision to invest with strong confidence in Acompany’s technological capabilities and commitment to real-world implementation."
Tsuyoshi Ito, CEO / Managing Partner, Beyond Next Ventures Inc.
"We have made an additional investment in Acompany following our initial investment in 2022. With the rapid spread of generative AI and amendments to personal data protection laws, the global Confidential Computing market, which enables the secure handling of sensitive data, is expected to expand significantly. Acompany is the only company in Japan with a proven track record of implementing TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) technology, a hardware-based confidential computing method highly compatible with cloud environments. It has already been adopted by numerous enterprises, including major industry players. Looking ahead to 2025, Acompany plans to launch a new product for developers, paving the way for global expansion. With the addition of leading researchers in confidential computing and public affairs experts, we expect Acompany to grow into a world-leading company originating from Japan."
Shuzo Ueki, Principal, Spiral Capital
"As generative AI continues to advance rapidly, data utilization is becoming an increasingly critical pillar of corporate competitiveness. However, the use of sensitive data, including personal information, still faces significant security challenges, preventing many companies from fully benefiting from the productivity gains AI can offer. In this context, Acompany’s confidential computing technology holds great promise as next-generation infrastructure that enables both advanced data protection and effective utilization - unlocking the full potential of AI. Since our initial investment, the company has made remarkable progress in organizational growth, R&D, and product development, and we are confident that Acompany has evolved into a top-tier global player. For this reason, we are pleased to make an additional investment and will continue to support the company’s growth going forward."
Yamato Watanabe, Head of Investment / Managing Director, DG Daiwa Ventures Inc.
"As an existing investor, this marks our third investment in Acompany. Now that AI has become a core driver of corporate competitiveness, establishing a governance foundation for AI and data utilization is an urgent priority, becoming something companies simply can't afford to ignore. In particular, with regulations on AI and data usage beginning to solidify both in Japan and globally, Acompany has demonstrated strong implementation capabilities through numerous projects with major enterprises, leveraging confidential computing to accelerate data collaboration with partners and clients. As a highly skilled team specializing in AI governance that continues to attract top talent, Acompany is well positioned to become a global leader.
We remain fully committed to supporting their growth every step of the way."
Yuichi Nishio, General Manager, Investment Department III, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd.
"Confidential computing technology is gaining attention as a means to ensure strong data protection in cloud services and to enable secure data utilization across multiple companies. In recent years, it has also been recognized as a critical technology for enterprise adoption of generative AI. Acompany excels not only in developing and implementing these technologies, but also in providing “privacy tech” - technologies compliant with legal and regulatory standards. This makes Acompany a rare startup in Japan with deep expertise in both technology and law. We believe Acompany’s technology is world-class and that it has the potential to thrive on a global stage. As part of MUFG, we will continue to leverage our strengths to support Acompany’s business growth."
Comment from Ryosuke Takahashi, CEO of Acompany Co., Ltd.
"With the rapid evolution of AI, we are entering an era in which the competitiveness of companies and nations heavily depends on their ability to leverage data. At the same time, concerns over the leakage and misuse of personal and sensitive information continue to grow, increasing the global demand for data infrastructure built on a foundation of trust. At Acompany, our mission is “Trust. Data. AI. – Building trust into all data and AI utilization.”
Through our expertise in confidential computing, data protection technologies, and governance, we are committed to addressing serious societal challenges such as privacy and national security risks that lie behind data utilization. With the support of this funding round, we will further accelerate our efforts in research and development, product implementation, and the recruitment of specialized talent. As a deep tech startup originating from Japan, we will continue to take on the challenge of becoming a globally recognized and trusted leader in this space."

What Is Hardware-Based Confidential Computing?
Confidential computing refers to technologies that allow data to be processed while still encrypted.
Among them, hardware-based confidential computing - also known as TEE (Trusted Execution Environment) or confidential computing - not only ensures data confidentiality, but also provides integrity, enabling verification that the execution code has not been altered and matches what was disclosed in advance.
In Japan, this technology has been adopted as a core requirement in government cloud services.
Globally, companies like Apple and Google have announced its use, and it has also been adopted by institutions such as the U.S. Navy and Army, demonstrating its broad and growing global deployment.
